Spices

JUI Pvt. Ltd. trades in various spices, some of which are exported to various countries worldwide.

Our company imports 100 tons of spices and herbs every month from over 10 countries and thus plays a vital role in the consistent supply of spices to wholesale markets, merchants, and importer companies in Pakistan. Most of the spice import is in whole, dried form that JUI Pvt. Ltd. tests in-house to ensure product quality.. Our product portfolio includes the following spices:

Black Pepper

Black pepper is the most widely consumed spice in the whole world. The source of black pepper is a vinous perennial climber that thrives best in tropical climates with frequent rain storms. The fruit or berries of the vine , known as “peppercorns” then serve as the spice. Black pepper is available in whole, cracked, and ground varieties.

Cassia

Often confused with cinnamon, cassia is more intense in its aroma and flavour, making it a better choice than cinnamon for adding to spicy and savoury dishes. Cassia bark is thicker and coarser than cinnamon and also contains more essential oils. In fact, commercially sold cinnamon powder is actually a mix of cassia and cinnamon. Cassia is sold as a whole, chipped, broken, and ground.

Cloves

The unopened, immature flower buds of a tropical tree of the family Myrtaceae are called cloves. They are pink while fresh and take on a rust-brown hue when dried. The Spanish word clove, which means “nail,” describes how they look like little nails with a tapering stem. Traditionally used as medicine, cloves are still used to flavour a wide range of consumer products and are consumed as a household spice.

Cardamom

Cardamom is a spice made from the dried whole or crushed fruits or seeds of Elettaria cardamomum, a perennial herbaceous plant related to ginger. Cardamom is also known as the queen of spices and is known to improve digestion, aid in weight reduction and lower blood pressure.

Red Chili

Chilli is a fruit that is a member of the Capsicum genus. It comes in various forms that are distinguished by the Scoville Scale, which measures pungency. Red chili is created when the chili fruit is mature and dried, then pulverized to create red chili powder. The spice is high in vitamin C that supports the immune system and helps combat diseases. Pakistani Red Chili is a vibrant red and has a strong scent, making it a heavily sought-after commodity in the world.

Garlic

The Allium genus of onions includes the species of garlic, which is closely related to the onion, shallot, chives, and leek. Evidence suggested that humans started using garlic thousands of years ago and have been aware of its medicinal properties since then. Today garlic is a common food spice and is used in food flavoring all over the world. Garlic is a native of Central Asia and is available as flakes, granules, and powder.

Cumin seeds

Cumin is a dried seed spice that comes from a parsley-family plant. The plants need a three- to the four-month growing season and a moderate-to-warm, moist and equable environment. When the plants start to wilt, the crop is ready to be harvested. The spice seeds are available as whole, cracked, and crushed and is referred to as “zeera” in the Pakistani region.
